We’ve taken the time to put together some frequently asked questions below but if your question has not been answered use the contact form below and we will contact you.

  • Who are you? We are Wildanet.
  • Why are you doing this? To provide you with the option for faster internet speeds in your area. BT don’t upgrade their entire network to superfast fibre, so we have carefully chosen areas with slower speeds that BT will not be upgrading. This will give you the option, in the future, to take an ultra-high speed internet connection from Wildanet.
  • What is a Wayleave? It is a written legal agreement between Wildanet and the land or property owner. It gives us permission to install, maintain or repair the network equipment that’s on their property.
  • Why do you need a Wayleave? We need to have a wayleave agreement in place to install, upgrade or repair our infrastructure (duct) on private land.
  • Telecoms are Utilities: internet infrastructure is classified in the same way as gas, water and electric
  • What are Code Powers? https://www.ofcom.org.uk/phones-telecoms-and-internet/information-for-industry/policy/electronic-comm-code/register#W
  • Is this a scam? This is absolutely not a scam. We genuinely need your written approval for us to install fibre strands to land or property you own.
  • How much will it cost me? Absolutely nothing at all and further to this, there’s no obligation to take a connection from Wildanet.
  • What works will need to be undertaken? Usually, it’s a simple duct into the ground that gets covered immediately after the fibre strand has been placed into the duct.
  • Do you use telephone poles? We do, but when we do, we prefer to use a like-for-like option where unused cables will be removed and replaced with fibre strands
  • Can I please speak to someone about this request? Absolutely yes. If you can please provide some contact details via the form below we will arrange a phone call with you.
  • What if I rent the property and would like a connection from Wildanet? If you can please provide your Landlord’s details, we can speak to them to see if we could get their approval.
