Wildanet backs campaign bringing Christmas to every child in Cornwall

Wildanet is proud to be supporting a major campaign to ensure thousands of children living in poverty don’t miss out this Christmas.

With thousands of children in Cornwall living in poverty, the ‘Mission Christmas – Cash for Kids’ initiative, launched by Pirate FM in partnership with Wildanet, aims to support families in need, so no child misses out on the excitement of a visit from Santa.

Mission Christmas – Cash for Kids invites people to donate gifts at more than 50 drop-off points hosted by businesses and schools across Cornwall. Cash and gift donations can also be made online at the campaign website.

Gifts will be sorted by the campaign team and volunteers and then distributed, via local charities and organisations, to children in genuine need and who might otherwise wake up with no presents on Christmas morning.

Helen Wylde-Archibald, CEO of Wildanet, said the company was delighted to be able to support this established and hugely important initiative in Cornwall.

She said: “As a business committed to tackling digital exclusion and the socio-economic disadvantages that this causes, we are well aware that poverty and a lack of access to skills, education and life opportunities is a very real but often hidden issue in Cornwall.

“Mission Christmas – Cash for Kids reaches out to children and families in need of support and provides the opportunity for all the county’s children to share in celebrating the excitement of Christmas.

“Wildanet is proud to be partnering with Pirate FM for the 2023 campaign. We’re grateful to all those generous people donating gifts and cash and to the network of supportive businesses, charities and organisation who together make possible this wonderful Cornwall-wide effort. We are delighted to be able to support this great initiative and hope to help bring a magical Christmas to families across the region”.

Lucy Start, Branded Content Manager for Pirate FM commented “Mission Christmas truly is a staple in the Pirate FM calendar.  Every year we strive to make our toy appeal bigger and better so we can collect more donations to reach more children and families living in poverty within our communities.

This year we are delighted to be working in partnership with Wildanet and their wonderful team.  With their support we just know that we will be able to make this year, the best Mission Christmas Appeal yet!”
