Gigabit Broadband Voucher Scheme

Wildanet is a Cornish internet service provider (based in Liskeard) bringing high speed, super-reliable broadband to homes, businesses, and communities throughout Cornwall.

Unlike other parts of the UK, Cornwall still has countless communities suffering with poor quality internet connection, making life harder for many families and businesses in these areas and putting them at a distinct disadvantage to the rest of the UK. Wildanet is working to change this.

We are a registered supplier with the government's Gigabit Broadband Voucher Scheme which is provided by the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS). This scheme helps to cover the cost of installing gigabit broadband (speeds up to 1,000Mbps) direct to your front door.

By registering for a voucher and receiving broadband from Wildanet, you're helping you and your community benefit from improved internet speeds and reliability.

How does applying for a voucher benefit my community?

Applying for a UK Gigabit Voucher through the government’s Gigabit Broadband Voucher Scheme helps you get connected to faster, more reliable broadband but it also helps your entire community get connected, as the funding from the government helps to cover the cost for us to bring fibre broadband to your whole area. The more homes and businesses in a build group means the more funding becomes available and the more people we can connect to lightning fast fibre broadband.

How to register through Wildanet

We have identified areas in Cornwall that are eligible for this funding and if you’re in an eligible area, we will be contacting you to let you know that your community can benefit from this government funding, that will enable us to bring gigabit fibre broadband to your area.

To apply, you’ll need to register for a broadband service through us. Once registered, you will be contacted by the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) to confirm you’d like to receive fibre broadband.

What Happens Next?

Once you have told us that you would like to benefit from the Gigabit Broadband Voucher Scheme – great, what happens next?

Agree your connection
Look out for the email from the Gigabit Voucher team at Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS). Make sure it doesn’t end up in your spam folder because until you agree the new connection, the team can’t issue your voucher. The email will come from gigabit.vouchers@notifications.service.gov.uk with a link to their website where you’ll find the scheme terms and conditions. If you confirm that you are happy with them they will confirm with Wildanet that they have issued a voucher for you.

Wait for connection
We will keep you informed about delivering your new service and will confirm when we have made the connection. As soon as you have a gigabit-capable broadband connection, we will inform the Gigabit Voucher team at Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS).

Validate your connection
Look out again for the second email from the Gigabit Voucher team from gigabit.vouchers@notifications.service.gov.uk because this time you will be asked to confirm that the new service has been connected and that you are happy with your new broadband speed. As soon as you have done this, the Gigabit Voucher team at Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) will pay Wildanet the value of your voucher, which covers the cost of bringing the fibre service to your front door.

A final email from DCMS
You will receive one final email the Gigabit Voucher team at Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) to confirm how much your voucher was worth. As a possible follow-up, the Gigabit Voucher team may ask if they can run a spot check on your connection a short time later.
